Biography
Hasan Demirtas received his BA from Marmara University in Istanbul. His shorts got awards from the Film Festivals and participated in international Film Festivals including the Cannes Film Festival and Oscar Academy Award®qualifying Film Festival 42nd Atlanta Film Festival, Atlanta, USA. Demirtas graduated from Documentary Media MFA at Northwestern University.
You Name It is his first documentary feature film. You Name It participated in many Film Festivals including Treasure Coast Film Festival in the USA, The International TV Broadcasters and Independent Producers Festival SIMFEST in Romania, and Thessaloniki Documentary Festival Marketing. You Name It received Best Documentary Feature film from Collected Voices Film Festival in the USA. In 2023 Demirtas finished Separation, his first fiction feature film. Separation did world premiere at 77th Salerno International Film Festival in Italy, 46th Moscow International Film Festival in Russia, 24th Annual Phoenix Film Festival in the USA, Skip City International D-Cinema Festival in Japan, Amsterdam Koerdisch Film Festival in Netherlands, Southern Cone International Film Festival in Chile, Portoviejo Film Festival in Eduador, Festival 7ème Lune in France, Kotka Human rights film festival in Finland, San Francisco Frozen Film Festival in the USA and Religion Today Film Festival in Italy. Separation got Best Culturel Film Award from Joutseno Art Summer International Film Festival in Finland, Jury Special Award from Idromeno Film Festival in Albania
